Software prototype: Art Doc Archive (work in progress)
Art Doc Archive will be a set of tools for digital archival care, for all the documentation of art that is taking place on the web, in feeds, blogs, websites. How to save this archival material and make it accessible for art history?
The goal is to reclaim the art archives from the data silos, from feeds, from lost websites
Over the course of ca. 3 months we are working in a team of researchers and coders together with Urbane Praxis e.V. on a software prototype, funded by the Senate for Culture and Europe in Berlin. The result will be a set of digital tools for archiving the documentation of art on the web, in feeds, blogs, websites. The prototype will consist of 3 parts, a mirror/host, a parser and an interactive visualization.
The project is accompanied by a blog titled Reclaim your Archive, open source software prototyping happens until end of February. Project concept and coordination are by Anna Schäffler and Lukas Fuchsgruber
